The UKHA Yorkshire & NE committee and members gathered in July at the beautiful Rudding Park , a property set within Yorkshire's nature and surrounded by woodland and elegant landscaped gardens.
On a hot July day, Manchester & NW held their July meeting in the relative coolness of Maldron Hotel, Charles Street.
A fantastic evening was had by all at our annual summer BBQ. The summer sun truly made the event sparkle, and we welcomed a record-breaking crowd of members and their guests, numbering over 150 attendees.
Janet Thompson our UKHA Chair for Yorkshire & NE is pleased to announce that Anne Bowden Head Housekeeper at the Hilton York Hotel has joined the committee.

Yorkshire UKHA Committee member and long-time member Liz Smith-Mills FIH FBICSc was shortlisted for the Institute of Hospitality Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Award 2026 – Sponsored by Miele Professional . Liz was supported by Lisa Williams UKHA National Chair and Janet Thompson Yorkshire & NE Chair for the ceremony at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London on 15th June 2026. Liz was honoured to stand with the other nominees, and only woman! A shortlisting in itself says a great deal about her standing, experience, resilience and ambition in the hospitality industry. Well done Liz and thank you for your outstanding contribution.

In June over 50 London SE members gathered on a gloriously sunny roof terrace at the Mighty Griffin Recruitment HQ in Brixton for an evening of cocktails, gifts, refreshments, raffles and networking.

The UKHA Manchester and North West meeting, held on 21st May 2026 at the beautiful Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange, was a great success. It was wonderful to welcome several new members alongside many familiar faces from the core of the association.
