Inside Housekeeping January 2026: Gosia Oszkiel

In the January 2026 issue of Hotel Magazine, Gosia Oszkiel, Executive Housekeeper at The Grand Hotel in Brighton, reflects on her career progression from international summer jobs to leading a major hotel department and shares how people-focused leadership, evolving technology, and a passion for team development have shaped her approach to modern housekeeping.

Gosia's hospitality journey started quite early. At university, she spent every summer working abroad to support her studies - Japan, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, and back in England. She worked as a waitress and bartender, and those experiences taught her a lot about people, service, and working in diverse teams.

After graduating, she came back to the UK planning to take a short break before a “career.” The Grand offered her an interview for a Housekeeping Supervisor role and 13 years later, she is still there, leading one of the largest departments in the hotel and working with an incredible team.
