Gosia Oszkiel, Executive Housekeeper at The Grand Hotel in Brighton is announced as our new London & SE Chair and we thank Fernanda Lewis for all her amazing work over the years.
Gosia Oszkiel is our new UKHA London & SE Chair
Following Fernanda's decision to step down as our London & SE Chair, we are very pleased to announce that Gosia Oszkiel, Executive Housekeeper at The Grand Hotel in Brighton will be assuming the role and will be heading up the committee from December onwards. We all welcome Gosia as our new London & SE Chair and look forward to the next exciting phase of developing the UKHA in London.
An introduction from Gosia
"As a psychology graduate with a passion for people, I found the perfect place to bring that passion to life in hospitality and housekeeping. Since 2013, at The Grand Hotel, I’ve been fortunate to work with an exceptional team dedicated to delivering outstanding experiences for both our guests and our colleagues.
In 2023, I was honoured to receive a Catey Award, and I have since had the privilege of contributing as a member of the judging panel.
From December 2025 I will be the UKHA Chair for London & SE and my focus is on strengthening connections within our profession. I aim to create more opportunities for housekeepers across London and South East region to network, share ideas, and celebrate best practice. I am also committed to promoting professional recognition, supporting skills development, encouraging innovation and creating equal opportunities within a welcoming, inclusive environment for people from diverse backgrounds. Supporting the wellbeing and growth of our teams remains my key priority.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me running or cycling across the beautiful South Downs.
I’m proud to represent this inspiring community and excited to help shape the future of our profession!"
A Massive Thank You to (and message from) Fernanda Lewis, Director of Housekeeping at The Goring Hotel London
"It’s hard to believe that nearly three years have passed since I took on the role of London Chairperson. I stepped into this position at a time when nobody really wanted to, right after the pandemic, when the workload for housekeepers was at its heaviest. I’ll be honest, I had never organised large events before, and it felt daunting at first. But what an incredible journey it has been.
I’ve learned so much along the way, but the very best part has been meeting and working with the most fantastic people. This association is full of incredible housekeepers and associates, dedicated, inspiring individuals who remind me every day why our work matters. Thank you all for being so supportive and for walking this path with me.
Now, it’s time for me to hand over the baton. And I couldn’t be prouder to pass it to Gosia. To me, she is one of the strongest housekeepers I have ever met. Her dedication to this association is absolutely mind-blowing, and I know she will continue to drive it forward with energy, passion, and heart.
Of course, I couldn’t have done any of this alone. Liana Sparks, you are the backbone of this association. Truly, we all need a Liana! I’ve loved every single minute spent working alongside you.
And to Denise, Margus, Paul, Jackie, Gosia, Kyle, Shahnawaz, and Charlotte, thank you for your support, your ideas, and your friendship. Every one of you has made this role a joy.
Although I’m stepping down as Chair, I’m not going far. I’ll still be on the committee, so you’ll still see me around, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much. It’s been an honour."
