London & SE 40th Anniversary Cocktail Reception at The Grosvenor

Fernanda Lewis and the London & SE Committee welcomed well over 150 of their members, as well as some real VIPs of the housekeeping world, to their 40th Anniversary event at the Grosvenor House Ballroom on Tuesday 8th April.

Members celebrated in style the 40th Anniversary of the UKHA association at the Grosvenor House Hotel with copious amounts of bubbles and delicious canapés.

We were honoured to have Olga Polizzi join us, as her father Lord Forte, CEO of the” Trust House Forte group”, was our patron when the association was formed in 1985.

Brendan O’Connor, one of the founding members, spoke about the beginning of the association, and Ilse Mohr and Gina Goodall gave their accounts of the early days of the association.

It was wonderful to welcome back some of our retired members, Deborah Preston, Penny Ross, Linda Rudkin, and Lynn Yambao, who were able to catch up with lots of members they knew and share many stories of the association throughout the last 40 years.

During the evening, a slide show was shown with pictures dating back to 1984, and a UKHA fashion show put on by Denise Bateson and Liana Sparks with staff from many different departments in the Sheraton Park Tower hotel in 1992. Both can be seen via the links below.
