Manchester & NW November Meeting Review
On 15th November 2024 UKHA Manchester & NW committee and members met at the Lowry Hotel for a Christmas Wreath making workshop. Our Guest Speaker was Rachael Shah from Vision Linens.

A well attended meeting with new faces welcomed, hopefully they enjoyed the demonstration and will return to swell the numbers attending, our membership seems to be increasing, which can only be a good thing.
Wreath Making
Rachael – Head of Sustainability at Vision Linens, provided us with and demonstrated how to use left over fabric/scraps of linen to make a reuseable Christmas Wreath. Any fabric can be used, and can include ribbons etc. She supplied a template for all to use to create the correct sized strip of fabric - DOWNLOAD HERE>>
We all watched the demonstration with interest and many embraced the moment and made their own wreaths. The Lowry Housekeeping Dept now have one gracing their office door! Yay success. Big thank you to Rachael for the interesting evening. The metal wreath used can be purchased from any craft type shops, garden centres etc.
Thank yous
A big thank you to the Lowry. As usual we were well looked after by Julie HK and thank you so much to Vicky Marshman the GM for accommodating us and providing a sumptuous buffet and wine for all to enjoy! Girbau provided us all with a goodie bag and Arran of Scotland also provided us all with some body lotion. Tork gifted some of us with napkin holders (not everyone was lucky on that score – first come first served). Big thank yous all round!
A very successful meeting all round. We hope everyone has a wonderful Festive Season and a restful January (lets all catch our breath for a moment). The Manchester and North West Committee look forward to seeing you early 2025 for our next meeting, which will hopefully be early February. Offers of venues gratefully welcomed for 2025.
Summer Ball 2025
We are now heading towards our Summer Ball June 2025. The 40th Anniversary of the Association. Remember we have an Early Bird ticket offer valid until 31st March 2025. Please book early. When booking and submitting payment please remember to include your Name, Company – if Company bookings – so we know who to allocate tickets payments to! Use you name as the reference on your payment advise. The Palace Hotel and Spa at Buxton have arranged a very good price for Accommodation which we have on allocation for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights so why not make a weekend of it and enjoy Derbyshire.
