Meeting Review
We met on Tuesday 16th September at The Britannia Hotel, Portland Street, Manchester. A big thank you to Tricia Thompson and the GM Michael for hosting the meeting and for providing us with plenty of food and drink to keep us fed and watered. Also a thank you to Georgia from Out of Eden for providing the biscuits for us to nibble on!
Our Speaker
Paula Gamester MBE was our guest speaker, she provided us with a great presentation "From Diamond Grader to Social Enterprise", her journey as an Entrepreneur! She brought along samples of the work The Sewing Rooms make for hotels etc. A very entertaining speech with accompanying videos, how the other half live!
The UKHA at 40
Update provided for the recent events throughout the UKHA, celebrating the 40th Anniversary. We commenced with the Cocktail Party in London, through to our amazing Summer Ball in Buxton (people are still talking about it!) where we raised over £1,500.00 for The Burnt Chef Project. Next week we will journey to Dudley for the Midlands and SW celebration on the Canal.
Jean Roberts
Our lovely Jean Roberts, has stepped down from the committee and is celebrating some Jean time, although she has fallen over and broken her wrist ☹. Get well soon Jean.
2026 Elections
Next year will be regional elections so we are asking for nominations for committee members and also the branch officers if anyone would like to join us? All nominees must be an existing member of the UKHA.
Meeting venues for 2026
We are looking for venues as usual, so any suggestions/offers welcome. November and January are ok so starting March 2026. Email me at manchester@ukha.co.uk.
