Yorkshire & NE: January 2025 Meeting at The Grand, York

The White Rose Lounge of The Grand Hotel was the setting for our UKHK January 2025 winter meeting in York. We were warmly met by Adam Dyke, the newly
appointed General manager of this historic hotel and his staff, who looked after us all so well.

Our much appreciated welcome drinks were kindly sponsored by The 2Vertue Group. After a delicious buffet of quiches, wraps and a tasty fish curry followed by choice of either a light raspberry roulade or an indulgent chocolate cake. 

We then listened to Konstantin Youdenko, who is the founder of TIP (take it personally). TIP is an App designed for hotel guests to scan and then have the
facility to donate a tip directly to a member of staff who has given great service. This can be for a room attendant who has cleaned a room during your stay, drinks service at the bar or table or serving a memorable meal. TIP is proving very popular with staff and guests, as our Chairperson Lisa Williams explained.
Our evening concluded with Lisa welcoming two new committee members onboard, Suzanne Marlow, Deputy Head Housekeeper at Grantley Hall and Sam Lewis, Head Housekeeper from Rudding Park. Finally, a thank you to The Grand Hotel for hosting an enjoyable and interesting event.
