Yorkshire & NE: July 2024 Meeting Review

UKHK Visit to Grantley Hall – 24th July 2024

We arrived for our Annual UKHK Barbeque at Grantley Hall on a very hot afternoon on the 24th July 2024. The sweeping drive took us through very impressive, carefully manicured gardens to the crunchy gravelled car park.

After our much needed and highly welcomed, welcome drinks, we were treated to an extensive show round; we admired four restaurants, three bars and a magnificent Bedroom Suite.

A summer barbeque followed in the Orchard Room serving us with tasty treats and delightful individual mini desserts. With time to mix and mingle before our guest speakers Tom Capper from Robert Scott the Professional Janitorial Suppliers, followed by Marie Winwood and Rosie O’Kelly from DTR Hygiene Janitorial and Consumable Supplies all gave interesting presentations on their companies and products.

The fun part of the evening was a quiz hosted by Grantley Hall Head Housekeeper Nicoletta Ilie and Deputy Head Housekeeper Suzanne Marlow assisted by Rooms Division Manager Russell Gordon McDougal. It tested us all on our knowledge of not only local hotels but worldwide ones too. The evening concluded with competitive towel folding, to see who could make the most intricate design or endangered animal !

Big thanks to everyone at Grantley Hall who were involved in making a balmy summer’s evening so memorable and enjoyable.
