Manchester Meeting Review: July 2026
On a hot July day, Manchester & NW held their July meeting in the relative coolness of Maldron Hotel, Charles Street.

Our thanks go out to Tatiana, the Executive Housekeeper at The Maldron Hotel City Centre and her GM for their hospitality in this very hot day. A big thank you for the excellent food they provided, everyone really enjoyed it.
A relaxed networking meeting followed our repast with updates given on:
- Local Elections - anyone interested in joining the committee standing for office etc please make yourself known. Tatiana has agreed to join the committee and we look forward to working with her. Judit is willing to stand for Chair (with Jan as support).
- Last weeks Summer Ball was discussed, everyone who had attended expressed their appreciation of all the hard work involved in organising the event and said how much they had enjoyed themselves.
- Liz distributed some chocolates to people who attended
- Next year the Summer Ball will be at Crowne Plaza, Stratford upon Avon 3rd July - so a Saturday in 2027. Remember the date!
- HHH Awards will be held on 10th September, again in Stratford. Jan has already been shortlisted for Housekeeping Manager of the Year and 3 of her Team at Bridgewater Hall for Cleaning Technician of the Year
- Nigel Hallisey and Jan Flynn attended the MHA meeting on 9th July (The Manchester Hoteliers Association). Feedback provided to the meeting. We were raising the profile of the Association to the GMs and to remind them to please support their HKs in attending our meetings - we only have 6 meetings a year. Also could they assist in providing venues for us to use for our meetings. Exciting things are happening in Manchester - not least is Euro 2028 and Therme opening in 2029.
