Yorkshire & NE Jan Review 2018
We had a great time at the Mansio Suites and were very impressed at the turnout, thanks all for making it such a great meeting.
The January, regional meeting our venue was the exciting Mansio Suites in Leeds.
We would like to say a special thanks to John, General Manager, for hosting this amazing event. And also, our warmest thanks to Fishers Laundry Group for sponsoring the free flowing wine. We had an amazing turnout and were smoothly guided through 2 properties of 5 star serviced apartments by Terrie Ramsden, Housekeeping Manager and Paula Jagger, Assistant Housekeeping Manager as well as Terrie's supervisors. The serviced apartments have no restaurant but the amazing front of house manager, Danielle and Tom, Housekeeping supervisor but on a buffet that any hotel chef would be proud to lay out top their guests. The membership presented Danielle and Tom with a bottle of wine and thanks for all their hard work.
Among the meeting were special guests Tina and Mark Gleed from Housekeeping Today. Watch out for their March/April publication as I'm sure the Yorkshire & North East members will become celebrities.
Kerry, our chairperson, went on to speak to the membership. Kerry explained about the upcoming elections, the positions available and what those roles entail. Kerry announced that their would be two new housekeepers standing in the elections to go on to the committee and learn the various roles. It was with great pleasure & pride to announce that long standing member Lurdes Ferreira of Marriott Leeds and new coming member Katie Forest of Dakota Deluxe Leeds will be standing in the April election to become committee members. We are awaiting the existing confirmation of a third housekeeper to join the regional committee in the upcoming elections. It was also mentioned, the upcoming membership renewals. Please check out the webpage for further details. Kerry also made special mention to thank Liz Smith-Mills for supporting the committee during 2017.
Terrie Ramsden organised with Molton Brown for every attendee, to receive a very luxurious goody bag from Molton Brown.
Finally we would like to thank all our members for your continued support by donating the wonderful raffle prizes and importantly buying lots of raffle tickets to raise funds so we can continue to provided informative and fun regional meetings.
The next meeting will be held at Doubletree By Hilton Leeds on Wednesday 28th March.
Sue Larcombe has recently moved to Tankersley Manor, we wish her every success in her new role.
