Scotland

There has been a Scottish Region of the UKHA since 1989. The committee and regional members in Scotland are committed to improving the professional standing of housekeepers and to the promoting of housekeeping as a career.

Jo Wilby, our current Chairperson, studied at the University of Huddersfield and graduated with a HND in Hotel Management. Her career started as a room attendant in Carlisle and progressed whilst working in various hotels across the UK and Europe. Jo is currently Executive Housekeeper at Hotel Indigo, Edinburgh.

We hold meetings monthly between September and June, visiting member’s hotels and workplaces across the region. The meetings are an ideal opportunity for housekeepers to network with each other, and also regional and national suppliers.

We have hosted the summer ball on several occasions giving other regions the chance to come and sample true Scottish hospitality.
